At the time, the Boulder Police Dept brought in a high-powered homicide detective from LA. He combed through the details for a long time and never came up with enough to file charges. But, his strong suspicion was that the mother may well be the murderer. Coming home from a Christmas party, the parents found that Jon Benet had wet her bed. The detective suggested that Patsy, perhaps under the influence of too much to drink, lost her temper and may have accidentally killed the little girl. Seems like dad would have needed to be a knowledgeable part of this cover up if that were the case. The Ramseys immediately lawyered up and the little girl's murder remains a cold case. It came up for review a few months ago when some court records were made public, but nothing very new resulted. The Ramseys moved to Atlanta soon after the investigation. Since then, Patsy has died from cancer and John remarried. The address of their former home was changed, along with some minor remodeling to discourage the traffic caused by curious visitors from surrounding states.
