Healthy crude supply keeps stocks high amid intense refinery activity for the season,
as low product stocks look to rebuild
12 February 2014 ¦ 27 pages ir.citi.com

Crude stocks rose 3.3-m bbls as crude imports jumped and domestic production
rebounded after a winter lull, even as refiners ran unseasonally hard to provide
for the cold snap. Cushing stocks drew 2.1-m bbls, after last week's 1.5-m bbl
draw, as Keystone Gulf ramped up to 243-k b/d. Gasoline stocks fell 1.9-m bbls
as implied demand looked slightly down y/y but PADD I imports dropped sharply
too. Distillate stocks drew a smaller 0.7-m bbls as recent intense winter distillate
consumption eased.
