Whether or not consumers want fast swap batteries... or any other specific product... isn't about science.

So, yes, you are correct that there is a parallel between what I'm arguing, or how, in relation to something that isn't about science, and what or how global warming advocates are arguing about something that is. But, what the subject is... matters.

People's choices of technology... isn't about science. You want science to prove that you are right... that people "should" want some specific product, option or feature... that for some reason you find is desperately important enough to be pathological about the effort in promoting it ? Well. Too bad. That's wildly irrational. And, it's important to understand that the approach to "sales" you're applying... only alienates people.

Science can easily prove that eight track technology is vastly superior to cassette tapes... or that beta max was better than VHS... but, "technical superiority" isn't what defines success in the market... and, those who get stuck on stupid thinking that it is all that matters... usually get their heads handed to them by competitors who better understand the truth. They can drive their Edsels home feeling good about their pathological sense of superiority based on having selected the Edsel as their ride.... without that having much impact on how the culture perceives them ? Maybe the Edsel was technically superior... which still didn't mean Edsel owners weren't made the butt of others jokes ?

I don't find that your specific technology preferences generate any reason for me to care... I'm an unwilling victim in your choice to try to inflict this conversation on me ? What you want just isn't a reason for others to want it. Get over it. And, get your foot out of the door... Go away. You're trespassing. There may well be a board here on SI for advocates of various technologies and their features to idle their days away debating the superiority of those various features with great passion. But, that isn't this list ? I'd think there'd not be many people interested in a board like that... which still isn't a reason to instead inflict the discussion on unwilling victims in other venue ?

" We [which includes you] know you don't really think that people will think pacemakers are a problem....Nor do you think that other people will think it's a problem either. "

Charming. So glad you know better than I do... what I think ? Odd, too, that you seem not to understand that Grannies pacemaker is incompatible with many apparently innocuous electronic devices...

Granny and the family DO have to be more careful with her life, by showing more concern than you are. Risking other peoples lives in the irrational need to inflict your technology choices on others ?

FWIW, here's a new system that addresses that problem you claim doesn't exist and wouldn't be rational for anyone else to consider, only since you're willing to ignore it:

"This new system uses remote magnetic gears to overcome the concern with previous wireless systems about potential health effects on humans from high power and high frequency electromagnetic fields." vancouversun.com
