Individual investors should never sell covered calls; the piddly premium is not worth the equity risk. In fact, I (and Warren Buffett) would recommend that individual investors not invest in options under any circumstances. The odds are much better in the State Lottery Scratch Off Games like Lucky 7, etc.

PS: Big institutions and Companies (like Microsoft and Intel) do
SELL PUTS profitably when volatility sends their stocks down on occasion.
