In the Northeast, we've been known to get liberal Republicans like Senator Weicker from CT and to a lesser extent, Senator Chafee, from Rhode Island. Believe it or not, there are lots of moderate Republicans in the Northeast who are not idealogues, like in the rest of the country. The Democrats have become a big disappointment, taking the payola from Big Business and are not worthy of my vote. At this point, I vote not just for the better man, but for a good man, who represents my principles and values. I disrespect both parties so I'm looking to vote for mavericks, if that is possible. If not, I abstain, since I don't approve of the direction of the country from a Democratic or Republican standpoint.
