Howard (and bonnie too) sorry for the late reply. Re. India, there is a big article in this week's Barron's. Due to the increasing popularity of this thread I am hesitant to post the article here. But, it pretty much calls things right. A must read if you are interested in India. I will be able to give a first hand assessment of the situation late in January after I return from a 3 week trip. Elections are to be held sometime in late Feb. Perhaps taking some position in mid Jan is a better idea. But for now, I would rather let the things around the world calm-down a little.

Why?

In the event that rumoured devaluation of Chinese currency becomes reality, India HAS to follow suit even before the election. The worldwide carnage, then, will be unbelievable. IMHO.
