I watched this sector for years. NanoSolar, Evergreen ribbon silicon, American Superconductor, First Solar et al. I can't tell you how many "breakthroughs" I've read about. The business is teeming with breakthrough stories. I was warning Solyndra was a swindle from the start, but a lot of VERY smart people get pulled in by tales of new technology. First Solar is one of the few companies with tech that did well, but ironically it had nothing to do with tech and everything to do with great managment.

Battery breakthrough? I'll believe it when I see it. Its the holy grail of energy. People have forgotten that we are going to run out of oil. A REAL breakthough would revolutionize the world overnight. That's a stock I'd want to be in on, forget Apple. Basically its charging time, that's why people think capacitors are the holy grail.
