I'm disgruntled cuz Obama is just one more corporatist trying to give the country away to the 0.01% while attempting to sound populist to appeal to the serfs. "Everybody has insurance now, cuz we'll help you buy it from the corps".
I became disgruntled in 12/10, when Obama said "I'll cut LIHEAP for the poor so I can keep the low tax rate Bush gave me."

Obama's TPP negotiators received huge bonuses from big banks

A controversial trade deal being touted by the White House is expected to give American corporations broad new authority if approved. Now according to newly released documents, big banks gave millions to the execs that are now orchestrating the agreement.

America was populated by a mix of people, including many nutty religious groups fleeing European persecution.

Australia was populated by practical unsuccessful criminals and gold chasers:

en.wikipedia.org

"During the late 18th and 19th centuries, large numbers of convicts were transported to the various Australian penal colonies by the British government. One of the primary reasons for the British settlement of Australia was the establishment of a penal colony to alleviate pressure on their overburdened correctional facilities. Over the 80 years more than 165,000 convicts were transported to Australia. [1]
Transported convicts were greatly outnumbered by the immigrants who arrived in Australia in the 1851–1871 gold rush. In 1852 alone, 370,000 immigrants arrived in Australia. By 1871 the total population had nearly quadrupled from 430,000 to 1.7 million people. [2] The last convicts to be transported to Australia arrived in Western Australia in 1868."
