George:

I am in 100% agreement about civilian government command. Through both Republican and Democratic administrations, we have fought way too many senseless wars.
BUT, after they have committed us to these rat holes, the restraints need to come off the soldiers.

I have a nephew who just returned from Afghanistan. They are forbidden to fire on unless fired upon.
And these new restrictions went into place this past November:

My oldest sister's husband fought 3 tours in Vietnam, I heard from him, stories of children approaching, who were booby trapped with bombs.

When we realize we are at WAR, and everything that goes along with war (ie enemy doesn't play by rules), maybe we will be successful and actually win a war.

I admire my son for his desire to serve his country. I just want him to have a fighting chance to make it home.

Regards,

Bob
