Employee owned. A great model, but fundamentally different from other companies. Instead of earnings paid to investors, earnings are paid to employees. Instead of investors being paid returns on money they bought stock with, employees are paid more money. Not complicated. But it also makes expansion far more difficult as time marches on. Because the capital markets won't be so tolerant as time marches on. I do like the employee owned model, personally, and would prefer doing business with such companies. But the reality is it is much harder to grow a business like that.
