How can you be certain the loss is attributed to the launch of the iPhone on CM?

After noticing the drop in net additions in December, I would attribute it more broadly to CM's LTE launch in mid-December. I think it is safe to say that the iPhone played a part in the numbers though.

It is worth noting that China Telecom already increased iPhone subsidies in the middle of January and still lost those 800,000 subs. The question is whether they go further.

The slow-down of net addition of mobile subscribers in Dec 2013 was mainly due to the increasing market competition driven by the launch of LTE service and strengthened marketing promotion by its peer. The Company aims to strengthen its marketing promotion to drive its mobile subscriber growth upon its launch of LTE services in the first quarter of 2014.
