Christie is a (literal) fatcat New Jersey Version of Vlad Putin. Corrupt power in a consumable package. Bruce Springsteen is our Jersey Pussy Riot.

In Putin's case, its Pussy Riot that ends up in jail, or beaten by Cossacks.

In America, Christie is sort of a wounded folk hero and well-meaning Springsteen is transformed into an unwitting prop. Like Breaking Bad or Madmen, a television drama on AMC.

What a weird and sad state of affairs on the local and world stage today. America, after the end of the Cold War... Moving toward the Soviet model of twisted reality, and them toward the power political theatre that is American politics, and its wink-wink marketing of perceptions.
