Hard to know if it is nature or nurture because in 7th century cultures like we find in places in the middle east everyone is religious. But generally speaking I would say sure. It takes intelligence or a vigorous mind to examine reality. Most people are lazy thinkers and prefer to just make shit up. Like our right wingers. Too much effort to actually find out the facts and not nearly as much fun.
