Gap between rising cost of living vs incomes is huge and growing. I was pissed when the GOP pushed the housing/credit bubble in 2003 as the magic bullet in a sluggish recovery when they controlled everything. Can't blame just the GOP these days though I will say putting a gun to the Fed's head as the only game in town to get us out of the financial mess I will never forget. What Americans needed was much more fiscal policy geared towards main street not overinflated home prices in the best school districts and stock averages making new highs as the numbers work so much better at 3-4% cost of capital vs 6-7%. Unlike MM I don't blame Obama or Bernanke. If I was in their position I would have done the same thing..There was no other choice thanks to the einsteins that formed tea party at the worst possible time (further irony)

As to SV and the winner take all end game leaving many millions of jobs gone forever and bricks and mortar in ruins I can make the argument it is running counterproductive to main street in the same way WS, DC, the MIC, WalMart and the Plutocrats are.
