K.H.,

I recommend doing some reading on METASTOCK thread to gain
some idea of what the downloader does for you. Metastock itself
is just an analysis program and you must feed it data on a daily basis to make it useful. Equis has built in support for 7 data vendors in the downloader. These integrate easiest into metastock
and vary in price and data quality. Beleive all are listed with links to their web sites at equis.com. You should really review
these and others mentioned here thoroguhly before going forward. Getting the data you want at the right price with the right features
is a personal decision and one you should consider before purchasing.
Many here use TC2000 tc2000.com and Quotes Plus quotes-plus.com. Tc2000 has a $30 price tag and free
30 day trial. Quotes plus has a demo that is fully functional except
it will only get data for the Dow Jones industrials 30 stocks. Look at all of these and see if they suit your needs and you will be in
a better position to ask more specific questions which many here will
be glad to respond to. BTW: I spent the first month of my TA career
purely trying to figure how to most effectively feed metastock its
data. I highly recommend staying away from using ASCII data from
places like quote.com as an EOD data source. Wastes far too much time.....
