When "money = speech" is combined with the ability of the people and entities with the most money being able to directly fund political candidates, you have a prescription for plutocracy. The Koch brothers seem to be buying America one state at a time, as well as trying to swing national elections, and they aren't alone on the (R) side. I'm sure they have (D) analogues, but I haven't heard of them yet.

That's why holding on to the presidency is so vitally important, so we can get some Supreme Court justices willing to reverse those two decisions, Citizen's United and "money = speech", not to mention that corporations have the legal rights of people. Combine those three and you've got a clear path to fascist America.

The Supreme Court is the only government entity appointed for life, and supposedly free from political influence because of it. They are the hope here, as we can hardly depend on the pols to let go of the money tits they need to stay in office.

I continue to believe the most negative fundamental changes in our political system are related to campaign finance issues.>>

I think you are dead right. That is the whole ballgame.
