That's so TOTALLY true...

A BIG part of the problem is the way state legislatures can divide a state into little bastions of "one party support".

If one party controls the legislature then they can divvy up the state to give the most seats to their own party.

That should be taken out of the hands of legislatures. States should be divided objectively without regard to race or political registration or anything else except population.

That would mean candidates would have to appeal to BOTH sides and couldn't just go for the nutjob vote on either side.
