In the end, what matters is what the phone can do for the money, n w at the phone can do for the money, not how different it is, right?

Sure, just about every new high-end phone is just a refinement right now. However, there are still degrees of refinement.

Samsung hit the absolute low-end of expectations and it isnt like anybody was going wild with the rumors. Same display, the S800 chip which debuted last July, similar plastic housing, etc. They literally could have introduced this handset during the 2nd half of last year. It is tough to find positive comments from consumers on the various sites right now.

They havent released pricing yet, so perhaps this is the design that will allow Samsung to initiate a price war on the high-end. Absent that, Apple's competitive position looks better than I would have thought through the end of the summer.
