" The Cost of Implementing ICD-10 for Physician Practices" updates a 2008 report. The latest research, determined that a typical small practice will spend between $56,639 and $226,105 on ICD-10, ..... A typical midsized healthcare provider will spend between $213,364 and $824,735, ..... and a large practice will expend between $2 million and $8 million

That's a disaster. $70 Medicare visit fees are not meant to cover such extra costs. And what for? Who needs a hundred thousand codes? A typical primary doc 95% of the time would do just fine with a list of two or three dozen diagnostic codes. And that's only the price of the new useless ICD 10 - which is just a fraction of the regulatory ball and chain that providers - and ultimately patients - must pay for. It's nuts. Nothing is as costly as socialistic fantasies.
