Do you actually KNOW anyone on any sort of welfare? I don't. Occasionally, I get behind someone getting AFDC at the supermarket, which I know only because they have to sign a seemingly endless bunch of coupons for huge numbers of baby food jars. So, you could say that welfare occasionally annoys me, but as a principle I'd much rather my tax dollars go for that than for ridiculously expensive military hardware we'll never use. I'm glad that woman at the supermarket is able to feed her babies, and glad my tax dollars do that. Perhaps one day one of those babies will be president, and I hope their mom reminds them then that government assistance fed them as an infant.
