It sounds like you may not yet have seen Maedel's latest issue - he has recommended dumping JBA since Sharpe left.

Alex:
They did not. I called the Vancouver office twice for James Alexander and both times left messages. He was out of the office when I called. I did not receive any calls at the office or on my home voicemail. Will try again tommorow.

Alot of volume. I don't know if its year-end related selling or what. If you or anyone else hears anything please let me know. Mudman

Alex and all:

I did finally get through to James Alexander this morning (I called him again - he was out most of yesterday, he said). He believes the selling is by someone who is close to Mr. Sharpe (the former President of JBA). Hopefully it's close to being done. Fundamentally, he said, nothing has changed. Money wise he said they are OK until April. Adrian Hall (from Arequipa fame) is currently involved on a DAILY basis negotiating JV's with majors. Drilling by Phelps Dodge is slated to begin early January. The hope is to get another 3-4 jv's done by early January so the drills can be turning in the first Q of '98. The properties being negotioaed are drill ready right now, Mr. Alexander said, so if any jv's get done we'll be having news late winter/early spring (April 1998??? sounds like a plan). Lets hope he's right. Mudman
