We need to ask Luntz how to turn "spend" into "invest".

Alex, your comments are exactly why America has become so polarized and unable to get anything done. When you look at the other side like that - instead of looking for common ground - all is you do is piss people off. Maybe that is your intent? maybe that is the intent of the Tea Party. But from a pragmatic standpoint it accomplishes absolutely nothing other than to further the polarization.

<<<< that kind of common sense does not make sense to the libertarian ideologues >>>>

I just said I wanted a huge infrastructure project and that I wanted to pay for it with a tax on trading shares on the stock market and your takeaway is instead of this we should piss off the other side off and just borrow more money? You do know that even if we borrow at a low interest rate, it has to be paid back right? You do understand don't you that if you keep pissing off the other side that NOTHING gets done.

You really can't put the two ideas together? Liberals want to tax the rich (what better way than to tax trading shares?) AND they want a jobs bill. Right? RIGHT? So why is it so evil to do them together instead of your insistence to spend the money and send the bill to your kids?
