> Low end phones generate tons of profit through their *use*.

I don't think there are many phone makers gearing up to make low end phones except perhaps Lenovo. Everyone who tried seemed to lose money. The low end is a moot point hardware wise. And market share is a moot point too as long as Apple has enough for developers to continue. Thats a done deal for at least the next 5 years.

Basically arguing about market share at this point is futile.

If Apple's next products are bombs, then it will matter. Until that point we are just running on a squirrel cage of wasted posts here.

Facebook's users, on the other hand, tend to seek socializing, not shopping

I can't say much about how FB is used as I have no data with which to draw an accurate conclusion. However, I have been told more than once that lots and lots of individuals (I'm guessing probably in the millions) sell stuff online, using their FB page as their storefront. Furthermore, nearly every organization I've come across also has a FB page for marketing. So, I'd say quite a lot of shopping takes place on FB, directly or otherwise. I'm sure FB knows, or at least has a good idea, of how much buying and selling takes place there, although I don't know if it has ever disclosed the figure.
