Hi Grommit -

I actually did two buys on CCG today. One in the IRA to complement the one I did in the ROTH that I posted earlier. I did start one in the taxable account to secure a 7.7% dividend if they maintain their current payout.

I plan to peel off a few shares from EXL to diversify my exposure to the REIT Mall sector. My buys are small compared to your positions < 1% portfolio positions but I like to watch and build positions if/when the story develops (both for EXL & CCG).

I also own MPW a Medical REIT you mentioned awhile back. My general premise is that as long as the cost of capital is historically low (as a result of QE), I want exposure to several different REIT sectors that focus on buying good profitable assets (w/ good management). The stories are different but the overall goals are the same, to build reliable and predictable revenue streams from this low cost of capital.

The CCG story is still developing especially the much longer term speculation of creating destination campus/housing facilities that utilizes both online teaching and one-on-one tutoring (w/ private "re-tired" professors). These satellite campuses will be located in low cost nice weather areas where students can still experience the "college" experience but at much less cost. I expect that these facilities will be sponsored by major University programs.

CCG could cut their distribution but based on their guidance, they should be able to maintain their $0.66/year dividend. They have several projects underway and maybe more if/when they can get government commitments for student loan "housing" loans (which could be an issue w/ all the recent over sight and concerns w/ student debt) and/or develop this new off campus destination learning program w/ a major University.

That's my take. I think today's sell off may have presented a buying opportunity but I may be wrong especially as the stock sells off.
