You're a real estate guy, Koan. That deduction benefits the wealthy far more than the middle class - they buy mansions. It does nothing to help poor renters who get the shaft.

As I read the writing about Camp's proposal it was not to eliminate the mortgage deduction or the property tax deduction but to put a cap on it. I could support that depending on the level of the cap.

Anyone know whether that reading of Camp's proposal is correct?
