Moon,

Come on Apple, hurry up. This is a $800B industry.
I get the feeling that this is one of the ways that Apple makes money off of iBeacon, through mobile payments. I hope Apple takes it's time and gets it right but I agree that sooner would be better than later.

Neal

This would be awesome to see Apple jump in. It would be great for consumers. If they go head to head against not only Samsung/Paypal, but Isis, Amex, and the other players in the space, we should see even more aggressive promotions offered to try various services and apps. Serve has had at least four or five lucrative promos worth hundreds of dollars to people using integrated mobile payments over the past few month. Yes, Apple will have to lose a lot of money initially to jump into the fray, but if they can offer a more appealing product, it could be a win for both them and the consumer. I hope we see this come out soon. Many are expecting some hints or details about it to come out at today's meeting.
