Me too. Fully half of my friends are conservatives, but they are wonderful people and I value their friendship greatly. But the right wing has been trying for decades to replace public education with vouchers and the church is behind that. I am 100% against vouchers. It will destroy the public school system. You know the right wing has had this privatization trip going on for a long time. Milton Friedman's dream. So we have for profit prisons which is the worst idea on the planet and an ongoing effort to replace public schools with private schools. Like after Katrina, where they were pretty successful. I don't care about anyone's spirituality as long as they don't insist I also have to follow it. But they do insist, and in spades, and we see it today with the pubs war on women. And we atheists are still being forced to live in the closet. Too damn cramped for me.
