Toshiba's new Digital TV tuner..................................... dbsdish.com Toshiba Offers CS Digital Tuner for DirecTV (Comline Telecommunications; 12/11/97) Toshiba {6502} will debut on December 10 the CSR-D1 communication satellite digital tuner for reception of DirecTV service of more than 100 channels. With simple remote control, the tuner will display on the screen broadcast schedules and contents. An easy-to-use electronic program guide feature is incorporated into the tuner to facilitate favorite-program searches. The tuner, which measures 5.7 cm thick and 30 cm wide, boasts a 32-bit RISC processor. Open-priced, the tuner will probably carry a price tag between 35,000 and 40,000 yen. Monthly sales of 10,000 units are expected.
