>> When I went back to Medicare Advantage, I was told to destroy my Medicare card.

We see people ALL THE TIME who don't know the difference. Patients will come in, tell you they have Medicare, and give you their Medicare card. Then you find out later (usually months later) that they had Medicare Advantage. Probably billions in claims go unpaid because of this ridiculousness.

I'm quite sure Shep would be among that crowd.

Just for you and inode...

How do Medicare Advantage Plans work? Medicare Advantage Plans, sometimes called "Part C" or "MA Plans," are offered by private companies approved by Medicare. If you join a Medicare Advantage Plan, you still have Medicare. You'll get your Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) coverage from the Medicare Advantage Plan and not Original Medicare.

Covered services in Medicare Advantage Plans Medicare Advantage Plans cover all Medicare services. Medicare Advantage Plans may also offer extra coverage. Learn more about what Medicare Advantage Plans cover.
