Respond to of 1576623 Russia might invade Ukraine if Obama wins, Palin warns in 2008 ................................................................................................................. BY Blake Hounshell OCTOBER 22, 2008 blog.foreignpolicy.com Speaking Tuesday at a rally in a Reno, Nevada, Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin had a little fun with her counterpart on the Democratic ticket, thanking Joe Biden for warning Barack Obama's supporters to " gird your loins " for an international crisis if the Illinois senator wins. Palin helpfully offered four scenarios for such a crisis, one of which was this strange one:After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next. As we've said before , this is an extremely far-fetched scenario. And given how Russia has been able to unsettle Ukraine's pro-Western government without firing a shot, I don't see why violence would be necessary to bring Kiev to heel. Watch the upcoming parliamentary elections in December to see if Moscow gets the pliable new government it wants. ............................................................................................................................................................................................ Wow, FP. You have crap on your face for this lack of insight on foreign policy. It begs one to ask, How credible is FP if they think the kind of scenario Palin mentioned is "strange" and "far-fetched"? FP was so far off the mark that it makes their stories look more like political hack stories to damage the Republican party. Instead of providing us with real reporting and being a leader in your field, your penchant to disparage the GOP is clearly evident. Blake Hounshell must be getting some good mail this morning. Waiting for your apology. What's worse? The taste left behind from having your put foot in your mouth or the shame of having someone you consider intellectually inferior proving themselves to be better informed on a subject. Are you man enough to put a mea culpa in print on this one? i look forward to the FP follow-up article on this topic: "Palin: We Were Wrong"
