Sorry C2 your conclusions are very wrong and short sighted
More so you fail to understand Russian mentality well known in Eastern Europe whose countries where plundered for over two generations.

Did you ever heard of the Katyn massacre?

C2 and all other who dismiss what is happening in Ukraine and possible Russian invasion

1. Ukraine is the bread basket of Europe for centuries

2. Ukraine controls the flow of 25% of the Energy needs to Europe and the Balkans

3. Not stopping Russia now will have dear consequences on Georgia another energy corridor to Europe with ample Russian speaking citizens and home to Stalin a revered personality today in Russia

4. Europe is a major trading partner of the US and as such of great strategic importance, if Europe enter into recession the US population will have big economic problems

5. Ukraine is a big exporter of grains and farm animals produce

6. The US is a big exporter of grains and farm animals produce

7. Russian takeover of Ukraine could enable Russia to use the exports of grains and farm animals produce to extort the US economy and weaken it.

8. If BO would have been the president of Paraguay or Bolivia et-al then C2 you are right but he is not.

9. What happens in Ukraine will have decisive and very important effects on the vital US interests mostly economic

10. There is a great danger of a domino effect and I see the present action and assertiveness of Russia toward Ukraine as a direct result of their success in Georgia invasion and secession of an unruly minority of contraband traders. This was IMHO the first try to slap the US in their face next may come parts of Poland Slovakia and Romania and who know who else, with Azerbaijan “Russian speaking population" high on the list due to the huge NG and oil reserves.

In a nutshell C2 think globally the US is not Uruguay or Sri Lanka the US depends on the world economy and more so Europe of which Ukraine is part off.

Russia must be stopped in its tracks with the same strong-minded attitude as JFK kicked out Russia from Cuba and risk of real confrontation. Not doing so we and for sire later generation will pay dearly. I watched the evolvement in Russia attitude during the last few years they got more aggressive and arrogant and corrupt.

Russian administration should be guided to develop Siberia a wast waste land which would benefit mostly Russia but also the whole world if properly developed.
