Our prison system is shameful and solitary confinement torture. A couple of my friends ran the prison system in my state for years. They were commissioner and deputy commissioner of the Department of Corrections. She and he were 10's in the morality Department. Dems naturally. He was a Jesuit Priest (before he quit) and she was a Catholic. Both as good as you get. Anyway she went on a tour of the nations prisons. She said in the south they were so corrupt they were downright scary, like the Dark ages. Dick Cheney was indicted for a private prison investment scam and a RW judge let him off the hook. Texas naturally. Scumbags.
