Well, at least college students are adults, legally, and can understand and bare the legal consequences. And I'm assuming that growing up in rural Texas and Utah handling a gun responsibly is just part of the scene so to speak. I'm not sure this is good idea though in urban areas--though I might be persuaded it is.

I'm just waiting for a shooter in a Utah university cafeteria. One guy shoots another, fifty pistols get pulled, and they are all looking for the shooter, the guy in plainclothes with a pistol out! Circular firing squad ensues...

The conservative argument will be, if only the 100 unarmed people had had guns..
