What Canada StockWatch didn't PRINT, although old news Pan Asia Mining Corp. ("Pan Asia") (formerly Consolidated Nu-Media Industries Inc.) is a Vancouver-based mining firm with recently acquired contractual joint venture interests in diamond, gold/copper operating mines and exploration properties in Shandong Province, China. Pan Asia trades on the Vancouver Stock Exchange using the symbol (PAR VSE).Pan Asia enjoys excellent relationships with key Chinese personnel and ministries. The senior management group consists of mining executives, entrepreneurs and geologists with extensive experience and contacts on both sides of the Pacific. The four joint ventures in which Pan Asia has a contractual interest are briefly commented on below:a) The 701 Changma diamond mine is currently an open pit operation which will be converted to an underground mine in the near future. The diamond mine has historically been the largest producer of diamonds in China. The mine has historically yielded some exceptionally large stones - 119 carats in 1983, 67 and 66 carats in 1991 - and every year continues to recover some remarkable stones from its production. b)The 702 JV project consists of the Xiyu kimberlite occurrences, a cluster of seven diamondiferous kimberlite pipes (the best being Pipe 28), and access to the entire Mengyin County of 1,500 square kilometres for diamond exploration. The whole Xiyu complex of the 702 JV was discovered as a result of magnetic surveys in 1965 and was intensively trenched and drilled during 1967 - 1972. Pan Asia is planning to bulk-test 100,000 tonnes of ore and conduct a feasibility study for a 5,000 tonnes per day open-pit mine. c)The 703 JV Project consists of 1,620 square kilometres of exploration area. Alluvial diamonds and kimberlite minerals have been discovered throughout much of this area. Previous airborne geophysical surveys identified 496 magnetic anomalies which need to be followed up by detailed exploration work.d) The Huixian joint venture operates a 50 tonnes per day copper/gold underground mine. A total of six copper and gold-bearing quartz vein structures have to date been identified. Pan Asia recently announced recommendations from a report prepared by an international mining engineering company on how production can be increased to 250 tonnes per day. The joint venture also conducts an exploration program which has identified a number of targets. Pan Asia's exploration consultant recently selected seven priority targets of both vein and porphyry-type gold and copper mineralization for phase one exploration.Kensington Resources looks forward to Pan Asia's success in this project and future relationships it may have with the company.
