Peachtree Eases Move to Multiuser Accounting Solution for
QuickBooks Customers New Peachtree Accounting Release 5.0 Now

NORCROSS, Ga., Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Peachtree(R) Software, developer of America's best-selling multiuser
accounting solutions, today announced it is making it easier for QuickBooks(R), QuickBooks Pro(TM) and
Quicken(R) customers to recognize the power of a multiuser accounting solution with the new release Peachtree
Accounting. Peachtree Accounting Release 5.0 includes a quick and simple-to-use conversion allowing Intuit
customers to retain their current accounting information while gaining the power of using an accounting system
on a local area network.
''Our number one customer request was to develop a QuickBooks conversion,'' said Peachtree President Ron
Verni. ''Intuit customers step up to our product line for two main reasons -- multiuser capabilities and unmatched
inventory features.''
During the last year, Peachtree Software has welcomed more than 30,000 Quicken, QuickBooks and QuickBooks
Pro customers to a Peachtree Software solution. ''Small businesses know they can grow with the Peachtree
product line,'' added Verni.
''We needed an accounting solution that would allow several people to enter data into the system at the same
time,'' said Denise Rudnick, vice president of Thermo King of Long Island, and a former QuickBooks customer.

Current Peachtree customers and customers switching from an Intuit product will notice the ease-of-use features

Peachtree has made accounting easier by including several new features, such as:
-- Accounting Behind the Screens(TM) -- Peachtree handles all the math
and double-entry accounting "behind the screens" so small businesses
don't have to bother with it. However, small businesses can see all
the accounting being done for them automatically, with a simple click
on the Accounting Behind the Screens icon.
-- New and Improved Navigational Aids -- Navigational Aids serve as an
easy-to-use road map so small businesses always know where they are
and where they want to go. Navigational Aids make it easier for small
businesses to understand how their transactions are processed, while
allowing them instant access to the features they use the most.
-- Hide General Ledger Accounts -- Peachtree gives businesses the option
to hide or show General Ledger account information by module. For
novice users, hiding General Ledger accounting information creates a
cleaner, easier-to-understand screen that makes data entry a snap.
And by leaving General Ledger account information on-screen,
experienced users have the freedom to edit this information giving
them more control over how their transactions are assigned.
-- New User Interface -- To enhance usability within Peachtree
Accounting, Release 5.0 has a new look that includes five new color
schemes to choose from. The color palette improves the overall look
of all the screens providing an easier to use product.
