I agree this isn't the start of a new "cold war". I disagree with the reasoning used because I don't think for an instance that that a cold war is what Putin wants. The article also seems to miss the strengths that Russia has achieved lately; an economy that is up 1,000% since 1999...........a country that is full of natural resources; resources that Europe is dependent on............an Olympic event that was extremely successful, despite fear mongering that it wouldn't be............AND - and we shouldn't dismiss this point - when we send someone into space now, we have to send them up on Russian rockets. I don't think we go to a "cold war" mentality, because that just isn't what Putin wants. He wants to be relevant in the world and make Russia a player. AND he wants to protect his military base in the Crimean.
