Grandfather, while I don't know who you are, and Andy this continues to naw<g>, on me, you are right. I am not she, nor am I an international currency expert, but the widest, deepest market available is the U.S. treasury market. It also provides the means for bailing out their insolvent institutions at a hidden cost to the people of the nations in trouble. I posted previously that this is what the fed did when the U.S. financial institutios got in trouble. Hopeless cases were closed but others were allowed to generate great profits by borrowing at rates the Fed made sure were low, to invest in the long bond at a guaranteed spread. I later saw Cramer had said the same thing before I did on The Street site. It's not an original thought as it has been examined everywhere for years
When is the flight going to occur? Why has it not begun? Where is the flight to gold?

Is a world wide depression possible? Absolutly! But I am not convinced it causes a flight from Treasuries. If anything it might cause funds to flee to them.
