>forecasts by meteorologists are pretty accurate, and weather is predictable!

Paul,

Yes indeed. Predicting the weather is a relatively easy compared to predicting stock market movements. Meteorologists don't have to deal with the vagaries of mass psychology.

Depends on the forecaster ultimately.Weather predictions are more accurate short term. How about saying if it will be a very cold year next winter? Who knows? Will we hit DOW 10,000 or 6,000?

My contention is that you can find any number of predictions on just about anything. No one knows the future. Not even the weatherman. Accurate is a very nebulous word at times. My own brand of TA says that since the last 1/2 hour was sharply down today then tomorrow is more of the same(Thean first brought that to my attention).

On another note. A review of the 120 day chart shows a double bottom in July and August. I will agree with Glen that a retest of 12/1 lows is now in order. Depending on how far down tomorrow is(SLB would have to hit 78 which is very strong support) and then close higher or lower to indicate to me whether we slip into Glen's "freefall" or move up from there.

I don't mind being a guinea pig for your experiment...Just so long as nobody blames me if they follow my advice. I don't follow my own advice sometimes!
