Who knows where the US would be if we hadn't bombed the crap out of Europe and Asia's industrial capacity at the end of WW2. We insured that the US would be the big dog for the next 30 years. Now we're trying to hang onto "we're number 1!" any way we can, primarily through war and oppression, be it militarily or economically.

Let's see how that turns out.
