Im a fan of Malone and have read the book.

I read quite a few articles online and pieced together some thoughts.
Essentially his non GAAP metrics and some of his adjustments tend to understate earnings. This is especially for LCMA/B.
You have have to run through some of the line items to reach a "owner's earnings" equivalent. Its much like CHK, numbers don't tell you the full picture. Have to dig, do some tornado and fix it all back up.
