On a per capita basis our oil wealth is miniscule compared to Norway. If the net present value of all future US oil profits were distributed equally among the US population, my back of the envelope calculations show an order of $5K per person.

US and Ukraine battling it out right now! Fierce battle as Ukraine has just taken an early lead.
First soccer match between the two countries since 1993 I think.

The oil companies got most of it in Alaska. The pubs made us give up huge amounts to the oil companies in order to get their vote for the permanent fund.

We got the ELF give away back after the Valdez spill by one vote. One dem had to sacrifice himself to get it. Mike Symanski.

And last year our tea party gov, and the pubs, GAVE away billions in oil tax cuts. We have a referendum on it this year.

We have 50 billion in our Permanent fund and Norway has 600 billion. Not sure of the pumping ratios or costs. But we pumped over 2 million barrels a day when we began.

And far more people with problems too. Gigantic cities with ghettos etc and race problems. None of that in Norway All one can say about the Norway welfare system IMHO is that it works for them and their culture for their circumstances.
