I agree, meds may be hard to track for normal people but they should know what the major procedures are and if they were Cscaned or MRI'd......ditto for blood tests.... They should know what doctors visited or examined them also. That orthopedist was billing for hospital visits he never made...... But I recognize that the majority of the population doesn't have the will or the little bit of knowledge it takes to do that..... "After all, he's the doctor, he should know"....

Here's a favorite story of mine.......way back I developed plantar fasciitis and decided to go to a local podiatrist recommended by the running community..... He asked if I would like to try a "trigger point injection" which I questioned him and asked if he had a literature or reference I could see....before I went back for the injection I searched for info to see if I could find pictures of what he said would happen.....I couldn't and just found drawings of the type he showed me..... the injection was saline with a little novacaine and for a few hours things felt better....(novacaine of course) Took one more "treatment" before I got the bill which was submitted to the insurance company as a "surgical procedure"....a shot of saline is a surgical procedure? The provider insisted it was a legitimate claim so I called the insurance company figuring I was turning in a scam artist.....they got pissed at me and insisted that it was a certified surgical procedure.... btw, the shots did squat for me...they are nothing more than a placebo....
