That is a cardinal sin. That is illogical. If there's no God and no religion, there are no sins.

"When one looks at religion as a cognitive virus, one can see that parents who indoctrinate their children in myths, do their children great harm intellectually going forward."

I absolutely love mythology and think the reading and study of myths is very beneficial. Our myths teach us much about our hopes, dreams, fears, and our meaning. I dare say even existentialists can benefit!

However, we know that myths are stories imagined to express symbolism and metaphor. And that is fantastic! But (as you say) when they are taken as truth, they become a detriment to individuals and to societies. They impede the honest search for Truth and Meaning and beneficial living; and they sacrifice Reason to the feeble minded mouthpieces who smugly lever themselves into positions of power by virtue of the certainty of their dull delusions. You were good not to indoctrinate your kids in fictional stories being presented as real.

When one looks at Atheism as the willful suppression of the Truth (that God is our Creator) in unrighteousness, one can see that parents who indoctrinate their children into what they KNOW is a LIE, do their children great harm both intellectually and spiritually.
