The facts are Ameritrade has very savy leadership. They believe the competition for discount brokerage will eventually lead to all companies using internet and min fees in the range they are now. That the future belongs to those who establish a large base now and that is why they are spending , spending , spending big bucks to build that base. To complain about service when we are all knowledgable about the flaws of the internet at this point is useless. They already know. MYself I am taking advantage of this climate to build my position and I love the lower prices. They only have a 2.5 mill share float which is nothing in todays market. When we get thru this down period, the funds will discover this new business like mad and those who gather now will have a fun ride with an :E ticket. We all know faster more efficient hardware is on the way and in a few years trades will be instantaneous. Just think how fortunate we are to be able to be in on the ground floor in tech investing..as a passing comment, I bought AMAT calls at the very moment they hit bottom this morning by watching my Ameritrade screen. I pushed the button and got filled pronto... I could never have done that if I had to call a broker.....be patient.....Yankee .gil
