BC, the problem with that definition is that you can accuse a LOT of people of "genocide." (No need to tell me that this is what the UN agreed to, because even that is subject to debate.)

Even the Native Americans who waged war against the white man could be accused of "genocide," since their intent was to drive out, with extreme prejudice, all white men from their lands.

This is because in your definition, intent is the only standard of judgement here. Not the scale, not the ideology, not even a body count.

I would prefer a definition that includes "systematic execution" and an intent that goes beyond isolated disputes. The weight of the term "genocide" should never be diluted.
