Al,
I would say that the Russians already are behaving as though we are there.
But do we want to antagonize them any further? Or is the principle of Ukrainian sovereignty, along with holding Vladdie in check, worth the risk?

I really don't know the answers to those questions. The simplest solution would be to not get involved. But if we do, let's not do things half-assed. The missile shield idea is a good card to play, if necessary.
