The whole mess in the ME and N. Africa are all the making of the UK and France by artificially establishing sovereign countries after WWI and WWII. Same in the whole African continent I think, but with more European participants who where clueless of the local tribal and social order.

U.S. Navy SEALs Take Control of Oil Tanker Hijacked in Libya

CAIRO — United States Navy commandos seized a fugitive oil tanker in the Mediterranean waters southeast of Cyprus Tuesday morning, thwarting an attempt by a breakaway Libyan militia to sell its contents on the black market, the Pentagon said. No one was hurt, the Pentagon said.

The fugitive tanker, called the Morning Glory, had sailed in to Sidra under a North Korean flag but North Korea disavowed the ship and denied providing any authorization. News reports have said it was operated by company based in Alexandria, Egypt, and after leaving Libyan waters it had appeared to sail the Mediterranean in search of a buyer that might take the oil.
