"What I am suggesting is that we go back on some of the deterrents that have been removed...both militarily and economically"

I'm suggesting Putin might respond to your deterrents by trading with Iran or playing games with his arctic fleet. I have some other suggestions. He might play games with Syria, or use his new rail line to North Korea to, I dunno, maybe break sanctions. I believe they have said their responses to our response would not be symmetrical.

Not what I would do if I was Putin... that's still another suggestion.

Well, he hasn't had to consolidate the Crimea yet. The Tatars might be a handful.
