People always make that "Oh, did you do it?" [i.e., install solar] "argument, as though that is definitive.

The hard truth is that, while individual action is good, this is the kind of problem that can only be solved on a national and, indeed, international scale through government policies working with the private sector in general and utilities in particular to make the conversion. But of course all of the fossil fool fanboyz fight this tooth and nail, despite the fact that no one is seriously suggesting that fossil fools will ended any time soon.

But never mind all that. That discussion became repetitive, tiresome and stupid for me years ago. Especially when the fanboyz kept quoting guys like Watt and Hizz Honor Monckton as their authorities (oh, wait, I forgot, the one guy at MIT Christie and that father-son team whose names I am forgetting are also their favorite authorities who they keep citing as proof that no scientific consensus exists, and more recently Judith Curry--the reason we know all of the names of these people is that there are so few of them that they keep getting cited all the time, lol].

Christopher Monckton, 3rd Viscount Monckton of Brenchley

we chose to...super insulate....

and adjust our thermostate......

was less costly.....and if the Lawrence Livermore Study Is correct
equally efficient......

And.....far less political...............................................

I'm solar, but hooked up to our 60% fossil fuel grid. Why? Cuz sometimes my 1.2 kilowatts are all that stand between Calif and rolling brown-outs.

Plus, they credit me for how much they take, against my hook-up fee ($4.325 or so, so I've gotten as much as 4 months totally free.
