"Obama needs to step it up very quickly." Yes, indeed. The sooner he does, the sooner Putin can announce new Russian submarine bases in Cuba and Venezuela. Let's just cut to the chase. We need to be reminded that the Monroe Doctrine is sooooo 19th Century. If we can't learn from history's mistakes, then we are no better than the fools that let Hitler take over half of Europe and kill over six million Jews, Roma and gays. We are not talking the Monroe Doctrine. We are talking a dictator who just annexed a piece of another country. A repeat of what he did three years ago. This same asshat is supporting a country that is slaughtering its people in a so called civil war. There are times when the world needs to respond to those who exercise power indiscriminately. This is one of those times.
